Optrak4 Real Time
Optrak4 Real-time extends the scope of Optrak4 from a planning system to
a control system. In conjunction with the Optrak4 Data Warehouse it provides
a powerful and configurable Management Information System for controlling
the distribution process.
Optrak4 Real Time allows you to:
- Track the location of your vehicles
- Obtain POD electronically, including signature capture
- Monitor late running and generate notification text messages for those customers affected
- Analyse results using pre-defined reports to determine:
- Transport KPIs
- Service level achievement by customer site or key account
- Performance by vehicle/driver
Vehicle Tracking
The on-board computer can also be linked to GPS tracking. This shows where the vehicle is or was at a given time and also gives the base computer additional "way-point" information so that in-transit delays can be recorded and the route timings recalculated.
Satellite Navigation
With Satellite Navigation installed on the driver's PDA the system determines the vehicle's current position. The navigation system calculates the mobile workers best possible route to their next destination from pre-loaded postcode information. Satellite Navigation provides clear on screen directions and optional verbal instructions to the driver.
Satellite Navigation saves wasted driver time in congested areas and on unfamiliar routes and provides a safer working environment.
On Board Computers
On the vehicle there is a Windows CE-based computer either a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) or a ruggedised cab mounted computer. This communicates with the Optrak4 base computer via GPRS data.
The driver is presented with his route consisting of a sequence of timed visits with order and/or product information. As visits are completed, the driver notifies the base computer by clicking on the "job completed" button. A PDA can also be used for signature capture.
As the base computer receives the "job completed" events, the time is recorded and the route is updated. If the driver is running late and will break time-windows, the system alerts the user and the Optrak4 planning screen highlights the affected customers.
A simple mouse click can then generate an SMS message to the customer with updated planned arrival times.
